The Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry Chipoka Mulenga has appointed the members of the Zambia Development Agency (ZDA) board in accordance with statutory provision under section six (6) of the ZDA Act, No. 17 of 2022.

Mr. Mulenga has tasked the new members of the board to offer strategic oversight on the operations of the Agency in a professional manner in line with government aspirations.

He stated that government is confident that the new Board has the competence, expertise and experience to propel the Agency to greater heights as it discharges its multifaceted mandate of promoting and facilitating investment, trade and business development.

Mr. Mulenga named the board members as follows:

  1. Professor Biemba Maliti – Copperbelt University;
  2. Ashwini Kumar Sagar – Zambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry;
  3. Geoffrey Musombo Samukonga – Farmer;
  4. Michael Couvarus – Nicholas Transport Limited;
  5. Subeta Kyambakuka Mutelo – Mulefu Mining and Construction Ltd;
  6. Jonathan Phiri – Ministry of Finance and National Planning;
  7. Sunday Chikoti – Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry; and
  8. Thandiwe Shonga Mbewe – Office of the Attorney General.

He noted that the Board will be led by Professor Biemba Maliti as Board Chairperson.

The minister congratulated the new Board and wished them the best as they execute their duties.
