The Zambia Development Agency (ZDA) in collaboration with the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Zambia, the Egyptian Commercial Service and the Egyptian Business Association will on December 22, 2020, host the virtual Zambia-Egypt Business Forum.

The main objective of the Business Forum is to promote trade and investment between the two countries, both members of the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) and the African Continental Free Trade Area (ACFTA).

Participants will include Investors, exporters and importers from both Zambia and Egypt in investment sectors such as manufacturing, energy, infrastructure development, agriculture, tourism, agro-processing and mineral development.

Export products from Zambia that are of interest to the Egyptian importers include coffee, tea, cotton, copper wire, leather and leather products, precious stones, crocodile skins, tobacco, wood and wood products, sugar, honey, insurance and banking services. Expected outcomes of the Business forum include among others investment partnerships, joint ventures, pledged investment, market linkages, export deals and exchange to trade and investment information.
