| Project Title |
Zambia Copperbelt Renewable Energy Project |
| Project Description |
The Zambia Copperbelt Renewable Energy Project is a large-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery storage initiative aimed at providing sustainable, cost-effective, and reliable electricity to key water utility companies and educational institutions in Zambia’s Copperbelt Province. The project will deploy 46,835 kW of solar PV capacity and 50,861.4 kWh of battery storage, ensuring a stable power supply for water treatment plants and universities, which currently suffer from grid instability and high electricity costs. With a 20-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) secured at $0.07 per kWh, the project guarantees a steady revenue stream, making it financially viable and attractive for investment. The initiative aligns with Zambia’s Vision 2030 Energy Strategy, which focuses on renewable energy expansion, carbon footprint reduction, and energy security enhancement. |
