PDV Metals was commissioned on the 7^th of November, 2024 by the Republican President, Mr. Hakainde Hichilema. The project commenced operations within 11 months of its registration with the Agency, and has since actualised USD 130 million, almost double the committed investment and created 300 jobs.

The expansion project was completed and commissioned in 2024 with an investment value of USD 45 million and has created 600 jobs. With the expansion, the company has increased its monthly production capacity to manufacture 160 million tablets, 200 million capsules and 2.4 million bottles of dry powders.
