| Project Description | Kalene Hills Fruit Company Limited is a fruit and vegetable processing plant. The company is a subsidiary of the Zambia Fruit Company, wholly owned by the Industrial Development Cooperation. The IDC is a State-Owned Enterprise (SOE) charged with the mandate to spearhead the Zambian Government’s commercial investments agenda aimed at strengthening Zambia’s industrial base. Project Milestones The processing plant was commissioned in 2022 and is currently producing pineapple juice, pineapple jam and mineral water. The plant is scheduled to roll out additional products: tomato sauce, pineapple rings & chunks, dilutable pineapple & cream soda juices. Market Potential The project’s immediate target markets include North-western, Copperbelt and Western Provinces and has export potential to Angola, Namibia and Congo DR. Kalene Hills intends to leverage export markets as secondary consumers of its produce. A market assessment of the export market shows Angola and the Democratic Republic of Congo to be bulk purchasers and will be targeted. Financial KPI 20% – 30% of EBITDA Margin and 10%-15% of Net Profit Margin. |
