The Zambia Development Agency (ZDA) participated at the just ended United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UCTAD) 8th World Investment Forum (WIF) held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates from 16-20th October 2023, under the theme investing in Sustainable Development.

The ZDA delegation, led by the Director Investments, Mr. Chimuka Nketani, showcased Zambia’s investment opportunities in order to attract investors to Zambia. Investment opportunities were highlighted in priority sectors such as Energy, Manufacturing, Tourism, Mining and Mineral Beneficiation, Agriculture, and Technology and Science.

The UNCTAD WIF is the pre-eminent global platform for investment and development. The Forum brings together more than 6000 investors, traders and industry experts to devise strategies and solutions for global trade and investment. It facilitates a multi-stakeholder collective action to stimulate trade and investment in development. UNCTAD WIF is a unique opportunity to influence investment-related policymaking, shape the global investment environment, and to network with global leaders in business and politics.

Participants includes high-level participants from the global investment community, including Heads of State and Government, ministers, executives of global companies and stock exchanges and the international media among others.
