The Zambia Development Agency (ZDA) Director General, Albert Halwampa recently made a presentation on emerging investment opportunities in Zambia to a high ranking business delegation that accompanied the German Federal President Dr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier on a state visit to Zambia.
Mr. Halwampa highlighted opportunities in the priority sectors including manufacturing with special reference to the Electric Vehicle value chain, agriculture, mining, tourism and energy sectors.
Further, the highlights of the meeting included engaging business-to-government discussions between CEOs and Group Presidents of top tier organisations representing sectors such as vehicle assembly, drone technology, green technologies, rare metals and skilled crafts.
Speaking at the same event, Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry Chipoka Mulenga thanked the German delegation for their commitment to value addition – based investment at a time that Zambia is actively seeking strategic partners to support the actualization of the 8th National Development Plan.
And Michael Keller, State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action of German led the business delegation and reaffirmed the commitment of German public and private sectors to join arms with Zambia in its industrialization and development goals.
Meanwhile, John Mulongoti Permanent Secretary Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry, led the Zambian government representatives flanked by other senior government officials, also expressed his optimism that the fruitful engagements with the German delegation will lead to growth in trade and investment between the two countries.
