The Zambia Development Agency (ZDA) has recorded business deals and transactions amounting to USD30.1 million following the successful Trade Mission to the Republic of Angola.
The deals were secured by 20 Zambian companies that participated in the Trade Mission held from 24th to 26th July 2025 in Luanda, on the sidelines of the 40th edition of the Luanda International Trade Fair (FILDA).
The participating companies represented diverse sectors, including manufacturing, agro-processing, agriculture, mining, and construction, among others.
Key areas of interest for the recorded business transactions include the supply of cooking oil, cereals, honey, groundnuts, agricultural fertilizer, engineering equipment, and offering services such as mining consultancy to Angola.
In addition, the Trade Mission recorded leads for the Zambian companies to partner with Angolan companies as a strategy to penetrate the market.
The primary objectives of the Trade Mission were to establish new private sector business linkages between Zambia and Angola; To identify and explore trade opportunities between the two countries; To introduce the Zambian businesses to the Angolan Market, and to promote Zambian products in the Angolan market.
Others included facilitating direct engagement of Zambian businesses with the Angolan companies; To facilitate pre-arranged B2B meetings to foster partnerships, trade, and investment opportunities, and to strengthen economic relations between Zambia and Angola by leveraging existing bilateral trade agreements and infrastructure developments like the Lobito Corridor.
Strategically aligned with FILDA 2025, the mission provided a platform for Zambian companies to explore new trade opportunities, build regional partnerships, and unlock broader export potential across and beyond Angola.
The Trade Mission was facilitated by ZDA with the support of the Lobito Corridor Trade Facilitation Project and the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry.
On the Angolan side, the mission was supported by the Agency for Private Investment and Promotion of Exports of Angola (AIPEX).
