The Zambia Development Agency (ZDA) has recorded 173 investment ventures in the first half of 2023 with an investment value of US$ 14.5 billion compared to156 investment ventures recorded in the same period in 2022 with an investment of US$ 1.3 billion. This represents an increase of 1,015.4 percent.

Speaking at a media briefing today, ZDA Director General Albert Halwampa said the main contributing sectors included Energy, Construction and Manufacturing with the highest investment in energy worth US$ 9.1 billion followed by construction with US$654 million and manufacturing with US$345 million.

Mr. Halwampa reported that 15, 525 jobs were recorded from the 173 investment ventures registered compared to 11, 434 jobs recorded from the 156 investment ventures recorded in the same period in 2022, representing a percentage increase of 35.8%.
