The Economic Development Board (EDB) of Mauritius, in collaboration with the Zambia Development Agency (ZDA), will host the Mauritius-Zambia ICT Business Forum on 23rd March 2026, at the Intercontinental Hotel in Lusaka. The Forum forms part of the broader Mauritius Africa Export of ICT Services Roadshow, taking place from 16th to 25th March 2026, across Namibia, Botswana, and Zambia.
The event will bring together government officials, industry leaders, and ICT enterprises from both nations to explore strategic partnerships, investment opportunities, and collaborative pathways for advancing the continent’s digital transformation agenda.
Dr. Hon. Avinash Ramtohul, Minister of Information Technology, Communication, and Innovation of Mauritius, will share Mauritius’ vision for regional ICT collaboration at the Forum. The Economic Development Board (EDB) will lead a delegation of eleven (11) private sector corporations, which will engage in B2B engagements with their Zambian counterparts.
Hon. Felix Mutati, Minister of Science and Technology, will officiate and hold a high-level bilateral discussion with his counterpart, reinforcing the commitment to strengthening government-to-government collaboration between the two nations.
And ZDA Director General Albert Halwampa says the engagement between Mauritius and Zambia comes at a critical moment as Zambia accelerates its digital transformation agenda and strengthens its position as a competitive destination for technology‑driven investment.
Mr. Halwampa envisages significant mutually beneficial partnerships at the forum that will boost innovation, create jobs, and enhance the capacity of our local enterprises.
Also present will be representatives from the Ministry of Commerce, Trade and Industry, the Ministry of Finance, and National Planning.
The programme will feature a showcase of tech-related services by the Mauritian delegation, highlighting innovative solutions in fintech, cybersecurity, e-governance, and digital transformation.
The afternoon session will be dedicated to intensive Business-to-Business (B2B) meetings, providing a platform for Mauritian enterprises, startups, and SMEs to connect with more than seventy (70) invited public and private sector Zambian enterprises. These engagements are designed to foster investment, facilitate digital collaborations, and position Mauritius as a regional hub for ICT innovation and technology-driven growth.
