The Zambia Development Agency (ZDA), represented by Zambia’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, H.E. Ambassador Macenje Mazoka, showcased a portfolio of investment-ready projects at the prestigious Reuters Events Investment London 2026, positioning the country as an emerging destination for strategic global capital.
Zambia joined fellow Commonwealth countries Botswana, Eswatini, Ghana, and Namibia in the Commonwealth Capital Connector initiative, presenting a diverse range of projects to attract international investors. The initiative provided a platform for member states to promote bankable opportunities across key sectors, including infrastructure, energy, transport and sustainable development.
Ambassador Mazoka led Zambia’s delegation in presenting five bankable projects, with a strong emphasis on renewable energy and infrastructure development, reflecting the country’s commitment to sustainable economic growth.
A key highlight was the 163MW Lufubu Hydropower Cascade, comprising three plants on the Lufubu River in Northern Province. The US$700 million project offers stable, high-rainfall-driven power generation, strengthening the national grid while supporting regional tourism and broader investment growth.
Also featured was a major infrastructure project involving the construction of a 23.1km overpass road, linking the Ten Miles Mungule Road Junction in Chibombo District to the Chilanga Cement roundabout in Chilanga District in Lusaka Province. The project is structured as a public-private partnership (PPP) under the Ministry of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development and is currently at the pre-feasibility study stage, presenting an early-stage investment opportunity.
Zambia’s engagement at the London forum marks another step in the country’s efforts to position itself as a competitive investment destination within the region and across the Commonwealth. With a robust pipeline of projects focused on energy, infrastructure, and sustainable development, the country is actively seeking to mobilise private capital to accelerate economic transformation.
Ambassador Mazoka’s presentation reinforced Zambia’s message to the global investment community: a clear commitment to partnership, bankable opportunities, and a conducive environment for long-term investment.
